Poparama Party is Back!

This is a link to a video of the latest Poparama party presented by Rewind Time. It was an 80s themed party on the 8th of September. Here is video that I would like to share with you.

It was great fun! Thanks all of you who came to the party!

I’m looking forward to organizing the next one…

Be transported back to the Jazz age at The Cakewalk Cafe…

If you’re into vintage style and old-time tunes then Cakewalk Cafe will be right up your street!
Held at eclectic Dalston hang out Passing Clouds every Wednesday evening, Cakewalk Cafe transports you back to a time of gin-soaked prohibition dancehalls and jazz-fuelled fun.
Surrounded by battered sofa’s, faded mirrors and tasselled lampshades, The Cakewalk band, lead by Ewan Bleach, play an atmospheric mix of jazz and blues, often joined by guest musicians including TJ Johnson and Natty Bo (of Ska Cubano fame!)
Its a relaxed night where you can equally collapse in an armchair with a glass of wine or swing out to the music. The night has gathered quite a following from the swing dance scene, and the vintage clad couples on the floor only add to the jazz-den vibe.
So, don your dancing shoes, gals put on your finest red lippy and go pretend like you’re in a Fitzgerald novel…
I can’t wait to get dressed up and unwind there soon.
7pm – Ewan Bleach on the Piano
8.30pm – Live hot Jazz from the Cakewalk band and guests
11pm – till late – Jam session
£3 entry, free for those attending the swing dance classes downstairs (see http://www.swingpatrol.co.uk)

POPARAMA!

Rewind Time is my personal venture and passion, and is an experience that celebrates times gone by. The launch night celebrated the 1950s last year in May and it was a great success, not to mention fun! After that, this year in March, we had an 1980s night. It was even better, so I decided to do another 80s theme party once again. This time It will be all about MUSIC, DANCE and MAKEOVERS!

I help A Charity called Child’s Dream – http://www.childsdream.org/ A portion of the proceeds from all makeovers will go to this Charity.

As my last event went well, I’m excited to organizing another 80s themed, Poparama event on the 8th of Sep 2012 at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club in East London, starting at 7pm to 2am.

I recently booked an 80s music act for this event. Clothes and instrument sounds are specifically chosen to create the big 80s sound.

Jumpin 80s musician

Jumpin 80’s was formed in 2011 by Mike after receiving many requests at events to perform songs from the 80’s. Having played with hundreds of musicians Mike chose only the best to join him in creating something extraordinary, a 4-piece band that sounds like a 7-piece. Jumpin 80’s play the biggest anthems of the 80’s by the world’s most celebrated artists from the pop of Madonna and Michael Jackson to the disco of Pointer Sisters to the rock of Guns N Roses and Bon Jovi. Every song is a hit and Jumpin 80’s can play them all.

Also we have an amazing DJ-Danielle King who will get us in the mood and send us back in time!

Makeovers only £36.50 – 80s Hairstyle, Make up, photoshoot with hair products goody bag. Don’t miss out!! Tickets are available now – http://www.rewindtime.co.uk/tickets.html

Everybody welcome!! Hope to see you there!!!

If you want to spend a night with a fantastic 50s Jazz and Blue music, don’t miss out!

Night with Florence Joelle’s Kiss of Fire.

I went to see Florence Joelle’s Kiss of Fire last week on the 25th of May at The Alley Cat in Denmark Street.

The music were all original Florence Joelle compositions. Jazz and Blues from the Heart and Soul!

Each song has a unique sound, coming  from a blend of bongo drums, harmonica, bass and lead guitar and insightful words. Go to her web-site and listen to her music – http://www.florencejoelleskissoffire.com

Florence Joelle – Vocal and Harmonica, Huck Whitney – Lead Guitar, Chris Campion – Bass, Arthur Lager – Drums and Percussion

Denmark street is popular music culture.

London’s “Tin Pan Alley” is quite simply Europe’s best music street, filled with specialist music shops and people who passionate about music. There’s hardly a rock and roll legend that hasn’t visited at some time. Music history has been made here; The Beatles and Jimmi Hendrix recorded in the basements… Elton John wrote the classic Your Song on the rooftops…
