With the event being called 50:50 you may like to imagine the background to it. That’s simple, it’s just 50% Art, 50% Food, but all mixed up in the most inspiring of ways. We are bringing a new vision of food and art to satisfy even more senses.

Up and coming artist – Rose Hill

I went to  Vintage Bean cafe  in Brick Lane again, for a coffee. I saw those sparkly artistic images on the wall. They’re very visual and colourful – I adore them!

Rose Hill; a born and bred Londoner creating original designs LOVED forever. Her works are stamps of time not thrown away after a season but art to be treasured. Instantly recognizable but continue to look and see the extra depth and texture. Fall in love with the fresh, vibrate and totally expressive prints.

Here are some of Rose’s new 20s  illustrations that I like below.

20s girlRose Hill trained at Chelsea University of the arts with a 1st class hons in textile design, she has a unique blend of skills and perspective. Artfully combining hand drawings, digital skills, personal experiences and beauty, she is an inspiration and delight. Capturing stories her work mark you as an individual, connecting with each and every client; bringing a visual expression of your aspirations and personality to your home.

Artist in Funchal, Madeira

I went to Madeira to visit one of my very best friends, who lives in Garajau, very close to Funchal. I was so excited to see him and to discover the Island.

One afternoon, we visited old town, Santa Maria in Funchal. He took me to an exhibition. There were a couple of artists paintings which I LOVED! Fortunately, I got to meet one of the artists and talked about his work and his life in Madeira. His name was Ricardo Andrade. He was very passionate about what he does and a wonderful family guy. He is truely one of the most amazing artists that I have ever met.

This is video that I would like to share with you.

The trip to Madeira was a wonderful holiday. Many thanks to my friend Tony!

‘Refound’ – Musician in East London

Up and coming musician – ‘Refound’

Refound has popped up all over the country and has definitely made a mark on the scene. Being a founding member of music and arts collective S-U-B-C-U-L-T-U-R-E and having a feature on Radio 1 Extra under his belt, Refound is definitely not one to shy away from getting his hands dirty in the UK hip-hop scene. Refound comes with a very distinct and unique style. Regularly using deep spiritual metaphors to portray the way he see’s the world, Refound communicates his own life experiences through his music, making each of his tracks a journey different from the last. Refound demonstrates these characteristics in his latest EP Dead flowers.

Wilton’s – The Pilgrimage Project

Wilton’s Music Hall is probably one of hidden the best secret places in London.

When I walked into Wilton’s, it was very warm and welcoming!

I went to Wilton’s to do some volunteer work as a front of house recently. The Pilgrimage Project, directed by Mattew. Tom Berish, Rina Mahoney, Rhiannon Oliver and Kerry Shale was performing that night. Jon, the building manager, kindly explained about the night exhibition as well as the history of building. It was good fun!! It is a fascinating place!

bar-mainimg_824x0

There are exhibitions, storytelling,  a bar area as well as a library area, where you could have a rest and drink there too. Also every Tuesday, there is live jazz music.

I am looking forward to going back!

I LOVE the Jazz Age!

{ What’s So Great About the 20’s You Say? }

The Roaring Twenties was the beginning of the Art Deco movement , a truly classy, geometrical and elegant artistic period – my absolute favorite combination!  This decade had great economic prosperity where beautiful craftsmanship truly flourished, men were true gentleman and women were ladies, (or at least dressed like it)!

This was also known as the Jazz Age, where people danced and partied, celebrating life after World War I, dressing up in diamonds, pearls, and fur coats. A  very well known book was also published during this period, one that most of us know far too well, The Great Gatsby. And if you are my age, then you probably have flash backs of High School English class just thinking about it!  The book always left a great impression on me, but I think I appreciate it far more now, than I…
